Past Nights: a dated event archive, not an article archive

Past Nights preserves the history of The Living Room at 35 East by date. A visitor chooses a year, opens a specific performance and can then continue to the performer, room and neighboring events. The archive stays centered on nights that actually happened at the venue.

Use the artist archive to browse by performer, the room pages to understand the physical setting and the concert section for broader live-music context. Those paths meet on the individual event record and create a useful chain: date → event → artist → room.

Old dates should never look like future listings. That is why this archive is separated from Tonight and the Next Nights calendar. Visitors can tell immediately whether they are planning a current night or reading the venue’s history.

The archive also gives context to major moments in the life of the room, including the opening, later appearances and the closing-era records. From each date, the next step is another event, performer or venue chapter connected with that same history.

The archive can also be entered from the performer directory or from the venue story. Both routes return to dated events, so the history remains anchored in nights that happened at 35 East rather than drifting into unrelated background.
